- Is awarded to pursue a training, certification or degree (associates, bachelor or masters) online, or in person on St.Maarten (online, USM or AUC) or outside of St.Maarten (USA, Canada, Caribbean, UK, Netherlands)
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Meet the general eligibility requirements
- The study is on the Priority List of Studies
- A Career Interest Test results demonstrates sufficient potential to succeed in study.
- Most Recent Study Results demonstrates sufficient potential to succeed in study
- The study is being pursued at the most efficient educational Institution
- Is awarded to applicants with IQ test results from a
psychologists and ortho pedagogists with a diagnostic certification of 130 or higher. - These applicants are exempted from the following requirements:
- The Priority List of Studies
- Career Interest Test
- Is awarded to pursue professional development as a talented athlete or creative artists.
- These applicants are exempted from the following requirements:
- The Priority List of Studies
- Career Interest Test
- Full-time Study
- Academic Study Results Criteria
- The most efficient educational Institution
Requirements
- The applicant must:
- have a proven record achievements, results & statistics as an athletic or artistic
- have been scouted and or recruited by a college or university (receiving a scholarship).
- be endorsed by the Department of Sports, Culture, National Federation and affiliated association.
The Minister may, on an annual basis, award study financing to a maximum of five applicants enrolled in secondary education, on the grounds of exceptional academic achievement.
These applicants are exempted from the following requirements:
- The Priority List of Studies
- Career Interest Test .
The applicant must:
- be ranked as one of the island’s top five (5) academic
achievers.- CAPE
- Exams in at least 6 units
- At least four (4) subjects with a grade I, and no more than two (2) subjects with a Grade II.
- CSEC CXC
- At least eight (8) CSEC subjects.
- At least six (6) subjects with a Grade I, and no more than two (2) subjects with a Grade II.
- VWO or HAVO or VSBO (PSVE)
- An average final exam grade of 8 or higher
- IB
- Total score of 39 points or higher
- GED
- A score of 175 or higher per subject
- American
- A Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.8 or higher or equivalent grade 12 courses
- Canadian Ontario High School
- An eight (8) or higher average 8 for grade 12 courses
- CAPE
- Apply for regular study financing, eligibility will be determined by the Study Financing Committee.
